The Great Cape Escape is NOT a Yankee event, but is a great weekend that includes volleyball with a number of familiar faces from the Yankee community during the summer. Below are some details from the GCE staff for this year's event.
Great Cape Escape was started in 1992 by a group of volleyball players as a weekend outing on Cape Cod. Like any group event many people already know each other... but the veterans are very welcoming to the newcomers and many lasting friendships are forged at GCE. Here’s our usual schedule:
Thursday, June 21
2:00 PM Check in, explore
6:00 PM Try out a local restaurant
9:00 PM Meet up at Parker’s Shipwreck Tavern (next door)
Friday, June 22
All Day Grab a bite and hit the beach! Play volleyball, swim, or just soak up the sun.
8:45 PM After dinner out, come back to the conference center @ the Quarters for the "Mystery Activity" - a chance to mingle & compete in a team activity. Lots of laughter & surprises guaranteed.
Saturday, June 23
All Day Get breakfast and hit the beach again, go shopping, biking, or visit Provincetown.
6-8:30 PM “Blender Row” is the GCE version of a block party. Visit, enjoy munchies, and sample a drink or 2 from our volunteer hosts (non alcoholic options available).
7-8:30 PM Catered BBQ dinner will be served (a vegetarian meal is available).
8:30 PM Game Night—join in your favorite board games in the conference center.

11:00 AM Checkout
Cost is only $175/person; this includes: 3 nights at Captain’s Quarters (double occupancy) with buffet breakfast, Friday night “Mystery Activity”, Saturday night Blender Row & BBQ dinner, and GCE souvenir. Deadline is Monday, May 7, 2012. As always you must be at least 21 to attend.
