The first award winner......win or lose, the man is out there having a good time. This person congratulates his team members as well as opposing team members for their good play....and then kicks them while nobody is looking! This person has become a student of the game and is always trying to improve even at his advanced age.....This person will always go out of his way for a friend and, because of this, he has many. I'm guessing that 80 percent of you have all worn a shirt printed by him at one time or another and he tries his best to come through for people when they need uniforms made up quickly. Regrettably, your photo may also have been captured by him at an inopportune moment and then posted on the internet for everyone to see......What a friend!
The last criteria was the biggest reason why he was nominated. Someone who would be sorely missed if taken away from the volleyball community. And I am now quoting from the person who nominated him. "He is the person who keeps me enthusiastic about playing and one of the main reasons that our team is known to have fun. There are better players out there, but how can you resist playing with him? His enthusiasm is infectious and this is one person who would be sorely missed if taken away from us. He is the kind of person that represents the type of person Rick Pierce was."
This year's male Rick Pierce Sportsmanship Award goes to:
